Lesson Packages & Performance Opportunity Details:
There are two main lesson package options:
Lessons Only OR Performance Track

Lessons Only Track

Performance Track

Online or In-person Available

LESSON PACKAGES
A typical Bloch Performing Arts season of lessons and performances is 34 weeks from September through June. Because we are always open to accepting new students, this can be flexible if a student starts lessons after the September deadline.
Performance Track:
The Performance Track involves weekly lessons during our season, and includes ALL performance opportunities in the tuition for the season (34 Lessons + 2 Studio Masterclasses, Fall Into Music ALL STUDIOS Recital, and the Spring Serenade ALL STUDIOS Recital).
Lessons Only Track:
The Lessons Only Track involves weekly lessons during our season, and leaves performance opportunities (2 Studio Masterclasses, Fall Into Music recital, and the Spring Serenade recital) a la carte if students need more flexibility surrounding the performance opportunities. Lessons Only Track students are still highly encouraged to celebrate their work in lessons by performing on the studio masterclasses and in recitals.
Other Lessons Only Track Options: You can opt for lessons 3x per month or 2x per month with the Lessons Only Track. We know many of our students are involved in multiple activities, or have other after-school and after-work obligations. It is most recommended for consistent learning and development to be involved in weekly lessons; however we always want to meet students and families needs as best we can with these options.
General Scheduling: This is most recommended to very busy adult avocational students where a consistent time for lessons may be more difficult, and our most advanced students working in the professional field of music. Please note that these drop-in lessons are often more expensive than the lesson package options.

Getting Involved in our Performances - How It Works:
Online and In-person Performance Process details below:
-
All Studio Recitals: Our Fall Into Music and Spring Serenade are the two seasonal recitals where students from all of the studios at Bloch Performing Arts can celebrate each other's hard work in lessons. These are our largest performance events where all come together as a community!
-
About a month before the scheduled performance, all students and families will receive sign-up information from our Event Coordinator with a deadline to fill out the Recital Participation Form. (Current Fall Into Music 2026 Form)
-
There are Dress Rehearsal times available for the singers who need to coordinate their pieces with Tristan Leung, our staff pianist. Piano students do not need to book a dress rehearsal time as they are not expected to prepare pieces with an accompanist or other collaborator.
-
Call time on the day of the performance is typically 30min. before the downbeat (start time of the recital), unless the dress rehearsal period involves a student being called early.
-
For Online student participation, you can submit a recorded performance to be included in the final edit of the recital video. Details on recording can be found at the bottom of our Recital Logistics Doc.
-
-
Studio Masterclasses: These classes are a way for students to have performance practice amongst their peers, and it is highly encouraged that students learn from each other in addition to the instructor leading the class. These are online or in-person, with Zoom as the participation or audit option for online students.
-
Performance Track Students are pre-signed up; however it is highly encouraged that Lessons Only students also consider signing up.
-
A reminder typically goes out to all students a few weeks before the scheduled event with instructions on how to sign up for Lessons Only students. (Current Voice Studio Masterclass Performance Participation fee link)
-
Students auditing the class can observe at no cost! To observe the class, students and families can email us to let us know at blochperformingarts@gmail.com.
-
There are separate dates for voice and piano studio classes.
-
-
Outreach Recitals: Our It's a Jolly Holiday and A Little Bit In Love are the two seasonal community outreach recitals where students from all of the studios at Bloch Performing Arts are welcome to give back to the community through performance. These are in-person only events.
-
Outreach recitals are FREE to participate, and students in high school can earn volunteer hours.
-
About a month before the scheduled performance, all students and families will receive sign-up information from our Event Coordinator with a deadline to fill out the Outreach Participation Form. (Current Form coming soon!)
